Biography:
John Goodman is an outstanding American actor with experience in the theatre, films, and television productions. Goodman was born on June 20, 1952, in Affton, Missouri, where he began his work in the theatre, and then gained recognition through his performance in television programs. Goodman made his breakthrough in acting when he got featured in Roseanne (1988–1997), where he portrayed Dan Conner, and was nominated for several Emmy Awards and Golden Globe nominations. Later, he became famous for his acting in Raising Arizona (1987), The Big Lebowski (1998), Barton Fink (1991), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), Monsters, Inc. (2001), and Argo (2012).
Goodman has proved his versatility as an actor by working in comedies, dramas, crime scenes, and as a voice artist. Goodman has performed in The Flintstones (1994), The Babe (1992), 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016), Patriots Day (2016), and Kong: Skull Island (2017). Goodman has been nominated for several Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards; however, he won only one Golden Globe Award in 1993 for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Roseanne. Goodman has had a successful career in theatre and has provided his voice for many animated movies, and the most famous role is that of James P. Sullivan (“Sulley”) in Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University. John Goodman is considered one of the most reliable character actors of America.
