Vasuki Bhaskar

Biography:

Vasuki Bhaskar is a prominent Indian fashion and costume designer, primarily active in the Tamil film industry. She is the daughter of the late R.D. Bhaskar, a film producer, and belongs to the illustrious Bhaskar family, which includes her brothers, film director Parthi Bhaskar and playback singer and actor Hari Bhaskar. Her family also boasts close ties to the entertainment industry, with renowned figures like music directors Karthik Raja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, singer Bhavatharini, film director and actor Venkat Prabhu, and comedian-singer-composer Premji Amaren as her cousins.

Vasuki’s career in costume design took off when director Bharathiraja recognized her talent and offered her the opportunity to design costumes for his film “Kangalal Kaidhu Sei” after admiring her work at various events. She continued to make her mark in the industry by designing costumes for Venkat Prabhu’s films and earned positive reviews for her work. Notably, she created a distinctive salt and pepper look for actor Ajith Kumar in the film “Mankatha,” which garnered significant attention. Vasuki has also contributed to the makeovers of actors Prasanna and Sibi Raj in the film “Naanayam” and collaborated with directors Prabhu Deva and Bala on their respective projects “Villu” and “Avan Ivan.” Additionally, she has ventured into costume design for an English movie titled “Anything for You.”
