Jodie Comer is an English actress who was born on March 11, 1993. Among her many honours are two Laurence Olivier Awards, a Tony Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, two British Academy Television Awards, and two Golden Globe nominations.
Comer rose to fame as a star of the drama miniseries Thirteen (2016) and in the television shows My Mad Fat Diary (2013–2015) and Doctor Foster (2015–2017). Comer won a Primetime Emmy and a BAFTA Television Award for his role as the psychopathic assassin Villanelle in the BBC America spy thriller series Killing Eve, which ran from 2018 to 2022. She received another BAFTA Television Award for her performance as Sarah, a healthcare assistant, in the 2021 television movie Help.
Comer moved to big-budget film roles after a successful television career. She starred in the historical drama The Last Duel (2021), the action comedy Free Guy (2021), the environmental thriller The End We Start From (2023), the horror movie 28 Years Later (2025), and The Bikeriders (2023). Comer debuted in the West End in 2022 in Suzie Miller’s one-woman piece Prima Facie, for which she won both a Laurence Olivier Award and an Evening Standard Theatre Award. With comparable praise, the piece made its Broadway debut in 2023.
