Biography:

Jeremy Irons is a renowned English actor who is famous for his voice and strong acting skills in film and theatre performances. Irons was born on 19th September 1948 in Cowes, Isle of Wight, England. After studying at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Irons started his career on stage and eventually gained recognition in British TV shows. The Englishman became famous on screen after starring in The French Lieutenant’s Woman (1981), followed by performances in such films as The Mission (1986), Dead Ringers (1988), and Reversal of Fortune (1990). Irons is often cast in roles of sophisticated, complicated and psychologically disturbed characters. Irons is considered to be one of the best British actors.

The most important achievement of Jeremy Irons is the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Claus von Bülow in Reversal of Fortune. Besides that, Irons has won a Golden Globe Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Tony Award. This way, Jeremy Irons is the holder of the prestigious Triple Crown of Acting award along with such actors as Jack Nicholson, Ingrid Bergman and Meryl Streep. Apart from the aforementioned films, Irons has starred in many more, including The Lion King (1994) where he voiced the character of Scar, The Man in the Iron Mask (1998), Lolita (1997), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Margin Call (2011), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and House of Gucci (2021).
