Jaya Bachchan, also known as Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan, is an Indian actress and politician. She was born on April 9, 1948, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. Jaya Bachchan is one of the most respected and talented actresses in the Indian film industry.
She made her acting debut in the film “Mahānagar” (The Big City) in 1963 but gained prominence with her role in the film “Guddi” (1971), directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Some of her most notable and successful films include “Uphaar” (1971), “Koshish” (1972), “Abhimaan” (1973), “Zanjeer” (1973), and “Chupke Chupke” (1975).
Jaya Bachchan’s on-screen chemistry with her real-life husband, Amitabh Bachchan, was highly appreciated by audiences. They appeared together in several successful films such as “Zanjeer,” “Abhimaan,” and “Chupke Chupke.”
Apart from her successful acting career, Jaya Bachchan is also known for her work in the Indian Parliament. She is a member of the Samajwadi Party and was elected to the Rajya Sabha (Upper House of Parliament) in 2004 and re-elected in 2006, 2012, and 2018.
