James Vanderbilt
Biography:
American filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer James Platten Vanderbilt was born on November 17, 1975. He is most recognized for having written the movies. Zodiac (2007), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), and its follow-up (2014). In addition, he co-wrote and produced the 2022 film Scream and its 2023 follow-up. Additionally, Vanderbilt produced a number of films, such as Ready or Not (2019) and The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018).
James, a member of the New York Vanderbilt family, is the son of Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt III and Alison Campbell (née Platten). His maternal grandfather, Donald Campbell Platten, was the chairman and chief executive of Chemical Bank, his paternal great-grandfather, Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt Sr., died on the RMS Lusitania in the 1915 sinking, and his paternal grandfather, Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt Jr., was the former chair of the New York Racing Association. His second cousin is journalist Anderson Cooper.
