Jaffar Idukki

Biography:

Jaffer Idukki, born on May 6, 1971, is a Malayalam film actor who made his cinematic debut in Kayyoppu (2007). He gained prominence in the industry with his role as a police officer in Roudram (2008) and became known for his performances in major films such as Big-B, Veruthe Oru Bharya, Maheshinte Prathikaaram (Mahesh’s Revenge), Nayattu, and Kooman.

Hailing from Udumbannur village in the Thodupuzha taluk of Idukki district, Jaffer completed his early education at Maniyarkudi School and Maniyarkudi H.S.S. Despite life challenges, he left his studies early and took up various odd jobs to support himself.

His artistic journey began with mimicry, performing for groups like Jokes India Mimicry Group, Abi Sagar Group, and the renowned Kala Bhavan. His mimicry talent opened doors to the television industry, where he acted in serials, including Aat Sundarikul Njanum. He also appeared in early films such as OK Chacko-Cochin Mumbai and Chacko Ramdaman.

Following his film breakthrough in Kayyoppu, Jaffer’s roles in Big-B and Nagaram (both 2007) brought him further recognition. His career faced a temporary setback after the death of his close friend, actor Kalabhavan Mani, in 2016, during which he was scrutinized by media and authorities. However, the CBI concluded that Mani’s death resulted from liver cirrhosis due to excessive alcohol use.

Jaffer stayed away from acting until the investigation concluded but made a strong comeback with Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan. With over 150 film appearances, he has become a notable figure in Malayalam cinema, celebrated for his versatility and impactful performances.
