Biography:
American actress Hong Chau was born on June 25, 1979. Her most well-known role was in the 2022 movie The Whale, for which she received multiple supporting-actress nominations and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her breakout performance was in the 2017 movie Downsizing, for which she received multiple supporting-actress nominations. Chau has “been prolific in recent years” and had “an acclaimed turn” in the TV shows Watchmen (2019) and Homecoming (2018–2020), according to a 2022 Variety article.
She starred in the 2014 movie Inherent Vice and the 2010–2013 television series Treme. She appeared in a number of TV shows as a guest star in 2018. She starred in American Woman and Driveways in 2019 and had a supporting part in the limited series Watchmen. She became a star in 2020 after playing a supporting part in the first season of Homecoming. She appeared in minor parts in the movies The Whale, The Menu, and Showing Up in 2022. She played a key part in the television series The Night Agent in 2023.
