Biography:

Kamaldeep Singh Dhaliwal, commonly recognized as Hobby Dhaliwal, is an Indian film actor, singer, and politician, born on July 19, 1977. His contributions span Punjabi and Hindi cinema, with his debut movie “Burrraahh” in 2012 marking the commencement of his career. Notable films in his repertoire include “Angrej” (2015), “Lahoriye” (2017), “Jora 10 Numbaria” (2017), and “Ardaas Karaan” (2019).

Hobby Dhaliwal, born in Sangrur, Punjab, attended a government school in Patiala and graduated from Government Mohindra College in Patiala. Born to Balvir Singh Dhaliwal and Surinder Kaur, with a brother named Sukhwant Singh Dhaliwal, Hobby also shares his life with fashion designer Lilli Dhaliwal, whom he wed in 1989. The couple has two children.

His journey into the entertainment industry began when he caught the attention of Punjabi singer Pammi Bai during college events, eventually leading to joint performances. Before entering Punjabi cinema, Hobby Dhaliwal, as a singer, released three studio albums: “Mar Jangeero Geda,” “Sade pind na Avi,” and “Jatt Warga Yaar ni Thiona.”

Hobby is widely acclaimed for his roles in films such as “Ardaas Karaan,” “Jora 10 Numbaria,” “Lahoriye,” “Angrej,” “Bambukat,” and “Lahoriye.” His filmography also extends to various other films and web series.

In a significant move, on February 7, 2022, in Chandigarh, Hobby Dhaliwal officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, a Union minister and the BJP’s regional director for Punjab, were present at the event. Khattar welcomed Dhaliwal into the party, expressing that the inclusion of well-known artists like him would strengthen the BJP in Punjab, as more individuals dissatisfied with other political parties were choosing to join the saffron party.
