Biography:

Gul Panag, born Gulkirat Kaur Panag on January 3, 1979, in Chandigarh, India, is a multifaceted Indian personality known for her roles as an actress, voice actress, and model. She achieved widespread recognition after winning the Femina Miss India Universe title in 1999 and subsequently representing India at the Miss Universe pageant of the same year. Panag made her foray into Hindi cinema with the 2003 film “Dhoop,” directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, and has since appeared in numerous acclaimed films including “Jurm,” alongside her role in the television series “Kashmeer.”

Her notable film credits include “Dor,” “Manorama Six Feet Under,” “Hello,” “Straight,” and “Ab Tak Chhappan 2.” Notably, she portrayed a commoner striving to save her husband from the gallows in Nagesh Kukunoor’s 2006 film “Dor.” Panag expanded her acting repertoire with roles in “Hello” and “Summer 2007” in 2008, followed by “Straight” in 2009, and “Rann” in 2010.

Beyond her acting career, Panag is actively involved in various social causes. She founded the Colonel Shamsher Singh Foundation, an NGO dedicated to promoting gender equality, education, and disaster management. Additionally, she has been associated with initiatives such as the Wockhardt Foundation and the India Against Corruption movement. An avid advocate for health and fitness, Panag co-founded the health and fitness startup MobieFit in 2017.

Panag is also engaged in the entertainment industry as a director at Tittar Lodge Productions Private Limited, focusing on digital content production. In her personal life, she married her longtime boyfriend, airline pilot Rishi Attari, in a traditional Punjabi Sikh ceremony in March 2011. The couple welcomed their son, Nihal, in 2018.
