Golda Rosheuvel is a British singer and actress who was born on May 2, 1970. Her most well-known on-screen appearances are as Queen Charlotte in the Netflix historical drama series Bridgerton (2020–) and its prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023). She is also well-known for her work in theater.
Siegfrried Rosheuvel, a Guyanese Anglican clergyman, and Judith Evans, an English Jewish mother, welcomed Rosheuvel into the world in Guyana. Because of her father’s missionary activity, she moved about Guyana a lot and frequently stayed with native tribes. Her family first lived with her mother’s brother in England when she was five years old, and then they settled in Hertfordshire, England. Her brother exists.
Rosheuvel pursued athletics as a teenager with the goal of becoming a professional athlete. She competed in the long jump, javelin, and 100-meter sprint. She shifted her attention to theater, though, after suffering an ankle injury. She attended East Herts College to earn a certificate in performing before attending the London Studio Centre to pursue musical theatre.
