Biography:

Geoffrey Rush is an acclaimed actor from Australia who has shown remarkable talent in film, stage productions, and television. Geoffrey was born on July 6, 1951, in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Geoffrey Rush attended the University of Queensland and studied acting at L’École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris and soon made a name for himself in the theater industry before making it big in movies. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor in the movie called Shine (1996), in which he played the part of an Australian pianist David Helfgott. Geoffrey then went on to play roles in various movies like Elizabeth (1998), Shakespeare in Love (1998), Quills (2000), and The King’s Speech (2010).

Rush has won many prestigious accolades and is one of the few actors who have won Oscars, Emmys, and Tonys among other awards. He is well known for his role as Captain Hector Barbossa in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise starting with The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003). Some of his other notable performances include Finding Nemo (2003), Munich (2005), The Book Thief (2013), The Best Offer (2013), and Genius (2017).
