Genesis Rodriguez

Biography:

Rodriguez was born in Miami, Florida, on July 29, 1987. Luisa Carolina “Carol” Pérez Rodríguez, her mother, is a model from Cuba. Her parents got married in 1996, and her father, José Luis Rodríguez, is a Venezuelan musician and actor who goes by the moniker “El Puma”. Rodriguez was a juvenile dancer on the Venezuelan children’s television program El Club de Los Tigritos. She continued her private schooling with a tutor once she returned to Miami, and from November 2005 to January 2006, she was cast in a recurring role on the NBC daytime serial opera Days of Our Lives. She also made a comeback appearance as a special guest on Bravo’s Top Chef television show. Rodriguez secured Spanish-language parts in addition to American television, including dual leads as Rosita Amado and Violeta Hurtado in the Telemundo primetime series Dame Chocolate.
