Gayathrie Shankar

Biography:

Gayathrie Shankar is a Indian model and actress she plays different roles in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. Her parents were half Malayan and half Tamil, and she was born in Trivandrum, Kerala, India, on May 2, 1993. Maya is her mother’s name, and Shankar is her father. Gayathrie finished her bachelor’s degree in psychology while attending school in Bangalore. She began her professional life as a model before going into acting.

While she acted in a Tamil film called 18 Vayasu in 2012, her most well-known performance was as Dhana Lakshmi in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom. She acted in Mathapoo and Ponmaalai Pozhudhu in 2013. Her next appearance was in the 1980s college romance Rummy, starring opposite Inigo Prabhakaran.

In 2019 saw the release of Ula, a multi-starrer that was later dubbed Chithiram Pesuthuadi 2. Radhika Apte, Priya Banerjee, Vidharth, and Dwayne Bravo were among the cast members in this film, which was directed by Rajan Madhav of Muran fame. 2017 saw the release of Puriyatha Puthir, which was helmed by Ranjit Jeyakodi and starred Vijay Sethupathi.

The dark comedy Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, which starred Vijay Sethupathi, Gautham Karthik, and Niharika Konidela, was directed by rookie Arumugakumar. The film debuted on February 2, 2018. December 20, 2018, saw the release of Seethakathi. She was an assistant director on Balaji Tharaneetharan’s film Seethakathi. She made a brief appearance in Seethakathi as well. She also ventured into web series in 2018.

In the Vella Raja series, which was exclusive to Amazon Prime, she portrayed Aadhira. Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s eagerly anticipated Super Deluxe, which starred Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Akkineni, Fahadh Faasil, Ramya Krishnan, and Mysskin among others, was released in 2019.

She appeared in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram in 2022, costarring with Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi as Amar’s wife, portrayed by Fahadh Faasil. This is her second film with Faasil, following Super Deluxe, and her eighth with Vijay Sethupathi. The same year saw the long-awaited release of her Vijay Sethupathi film Maamanithan, which was helmed by Seenu Ramasamy.
