Farjana Barucha

Farzana, born as Farzana Barucha in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, is a versatile Indian actress, dance choreographer, and model who has made significant contributions to the Telugu film industry. Hailing from a Parsi family, Farzana began her journey in the entertainment world as a professional dancer and choreographer. Her talents in choreography extended to fashion shows and albums, and she notably collaborated on stage shows with renowned artist Adnan Sami. One of her standout achievements was choreographing the title song for the 2006 Sanjay Dutt-starrer movie “Zinda.”

Transitioning into modeling, Farzana worked with prominent brands such as Hero Honda, Sansui, Godrej Hair Care, and Big Bazaar. Her entry into acting came when director Nidhi Prasad noticed her potential and cast her in the lead role of the Telugu film “Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw” (2006), a remake of Priyadarshan’s Bollywood comedy “Malamaal Weekly” (2006). This marked the beginning of her journey as a comedy film heroine.

Farzana’s career in Telugu cinema flourished as she took on lead roles in several notable comedy films, including “Seema Sastri” (2007), “Bommana Brothers Chandana Sisters” (2008), “Gajibiji” (2008), and “Kuberulu” (2008). Despite being initially typecast in comic roles, her performances showcased her versatility as an actress. She showcased her dancing skills in the movie “Mallepuvvu” (2008), starring Muralikrishna and Bhumika Chawla.

In 2009, Farzana expanded her horizons by entering the Tamil film industry, where she played the lead role in the film “1977,” alongside Sarath Kumar and Namitha.

Beyond her achievements in the entertainment industry, Farzana is also recognized as a nutrition expert. Her interests extend to adventure sports, and she actively participates in activities like paragliding, rock climbing, and bungee jumping. Additionally, she has contributed her expertise as a trainer for the sportswear company Reebok International Limited. Farzana’s multifaceted career reflects her passion for various aspects of the entertainment world and her dedication to leading a well-rounded and adventurous life.
