Dhina, also credited as Dheena, is an accomplished Indian composer hailing from Tamil Nadu, India, known for his contributions to film and television series music. He embarked on his musical journey as an assistant musician under the renowned composer G. K. Venkatesh. Later, he had the privilege of working closely with the legendary Maestro Ilaiyaraaja as a music conductor. His early career saw him composing music for title tracks in various television serials, including popular ones like “Chitthi,” “Annamalai,” “Ninaivugal,” “Payanam,” “Nambikkai,” “Chellamay,” and “Metti Oli,” among others. Notably, it was the immensely popular tele-series “Chitthi,” produced by Raadhika, that propelled Dhina to widespread recognition.
Dhina’s breakthrough in the realm of Tamil cinema came with the 2001 comedy film “Middle Class Madhavan.” Since then, he has established himself as a versatile music composer, working across different languages, including Telugu and Kannada films. His musical contributions have enriched the soundtracks of various movies.
Aside from his musical career, Dhina has ventured into the realm of politics. In 2018, he joined the Amma Makkal Munetra Kazhagam led by T. T. V. Dhinakaran. Subsequently, he has aligned himself with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been appointed as the state chief of the Overseas and other states Tamil development wing, signaling his active involvement in political affairs.
