Actor and content producer Swaminath Raamanathan, also known as Dev Ramnath or just Dev, is from India and has acted in Tamil movies. Prior to assuming his new name in 2019, he was credited as Abhinav.
The parts in his debut movie, Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer (2013), in which he proposes to Manisha Yadav as a college student, were removed. In the 2014 bilingual film Vaayai Moodi Pesavum (Tamil)/Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram (Malayalam), directed by Balaji Mohan, he made his acting debut as Nazriya Nazim’s love interest. He portrayed the role of Miya George’s suitor in Nelson Venkatesan’s highly regarded 2016 film Oru Naal Koothu.
His first prominent part was in the 2019 Tamil crime thriller Vellai Pookal. He portrayed Ajay, a Microsoft software engineer and the son of Vivek’s character, Rudhran, a former police officer. The entire movie was filmed in Seattle, and both critics and viewers gave it favorable reviews when it was released in April 2019. The New Indian Express gave his performance a positive review, describing it as “relatable and realistic” .
Alongside Shree Karthick, he runs Madboys Creatives, a production firm that creates content and ads, including web series, TV ads, and digital brand films. He acted in and produced the online series Happy to be Single, which was launched by Anirudh Ravichander and released by Sony Music India.
