Indian actress Deepika Amin, whose real name is Deepika Deshpande, works in Hindi movies. Her parts in the movies Fan, Raanjhanaa, and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania are well-known. She has also contributed to the TV series Tashn-e-Ishq and Farmaan.
In Mumbai, Deepika Deshpande was born into a Maharashtrian family as Deepika Amin. The Marathi poet Atmaram Ravaji Deshpande, recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award, was her paternal grandpa. Kusumavati Deshpande, her paternal grandmother, taught English literature at Nagpur University in addition to being a Marathi writer.
In the Indian Air Force, her father Ulhas Deshpande held the rank of Air Vice Marshal. Her mother, Kshama Deshpande, is a trained Kathak dancer and student of Gopi Krishna.
