Deepa Shankar is an Indian actress primarily active in the Tamil film industry. She began her career with the popular television show Metti Oli and later participated in the reality show Cooku with Comali. She has appeared in films such as Mayandi Kudumbathar (2009), Kadaikutty Singam (2018), and Doctor (2021).
Originally from Thoothukudi, she moved to Coimbatore for higher studies at Kumaraguru College of Arts and Science. She secured her first on-screen role in Metti Oli after auditioning for a supporting character. Her performance in Doctor (2021) gained recognition, with critics praising her impeccable comic timing and physical comedy skills.
Deepa also participated in the reality show Mr and Mrs Chinnathirai alongside her husband, Shankar. Additionally, she has made a guest appearance in the romantic TV series Abhi Tailor.
