British actor Darrell Fitzgerald D’Silva is well-known for his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and his portrayal as Hendrik Davie in the ITV series Van der Valk. Darrell Fitzgerald D’Silva was born in South Yorkshire’s Rotherham. Before turning to acting, D’Silva played with Hula and The Anti-Group in the Sheffield music scene of the 1980s. He completed his studies at the Drama Center London.
In 1996, D’Silva joined the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) to perform as Kilroy in Tennessee Williams’s Camino Real, directed by Steven Pimlott. He has toured the world and performed in plays with the company for more than 20 years. In 2011, he was promoted to associate artist. The Rose Tattoo, The Royal Hunt of the Sun, and Closer are among the plays he has performed at the Royal National Theatre.
