Dan Dhanoa, originally named Inderpreet Singh Dhanoa and born on February 28, 1959, is a former Indian film actor who also worked as a sailor (master mariner) in the Merchant Navy.
He is primarily recognized for his iconic antagonistic roles in Hindi cinema during the 1980s and 1990s, appearing in around 100 films, including notable ones like “Mard” (1984), “Karma” (1986), “Tridev” (1989), and “Sanam Bewafa” (1991).
Dan Dhanoa’s entry into the film industry was facilitated by actor and director Feroz Khan. He made his debut in Manmohan Desai’s film “Mard,” where he played the main villain opposite Amitabh Bachchan.
In 1986, he tied the knot with Nikii Waalia, and they have a son named Gobind Singh Dhanoa, known as Tarzan, who is a professional cinematographer.
Later, in 2007, Dan Dhanoa married an actor and classical dancer specializing in Kathak from the Jaipur Gharana, Nandita Puri.
He is an alumnus of The Doon School in Dehradun, part of the 1974 batch. Dan Dhanoa, an enthusiastic traveler, has now settled in Chandigarh, where he pursues his interests in gardening and collecting art and artifacts.
