Actress Chaya Singh is primarily employed in Tamil and Kannada motion pictures and television series. Her acting career began with Kannada films, and she has since appeared in films in Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Bhojpuri. Her notoriety stems from the fact that she chooses her parts carefully. Chaya’s breakthrough performance came from Thiruda Thirudi (2003).
Early years: Singh was raised in a Rajput household. Bangalore is her birthplace. She completed her education at Bangalore’s Lourdes School, where she studied up until the twelfth grade.
Her movie debut was in Munnudi. She went on to work on other Kannada films, such as Sai Prakash’s Rowdy Aliya and Dinesh Baboo’s Chitte, as well as the successful Thuntata and Haseena, both directed by Girish Kasaravalli.
Following her lack of success in the Kannada film business, she moved to Tamil cinema. The most well-known film starring Chaya Singh is Thiruda Thirudi in Tamil, which features the hit song “Manmadha Raasa.” She also acted in Sakha Sakhi, the Kannada version, which was not as successful as the original.
After that, Chaya performed item numbers in Arul and Thirupaachi and acted in the little-known films Kavithai and Jaisurya, despite her claim that she detests performing them. After Vallamai Tharayo, her comeback to Tamil, she acted in the paranormal thriller Anandhapurathu Veedu.
She participated in the 2008 Kannada film Akasha Gange. “The highlight of the film is Chaya Singh who has come out with an outstanding performance as a music teacher who comes to her lover’s house to win over his family,” Rediff commented about her performance in the movie. “This is yet another one of Chaya Singh’s best performances,” Sify commented. She speaks with her beautiful eyes.
She starred in the short Kannada film Just Kailawesome. The dialogue between writer T. P. Kailasam and the female protagonists from four of his plays is the central theme of the documentary about the playwright. All four roles—Paatu from Tollugatti, Eeke from Gandaskathri, Venkamma from Home Rule, and Sule from the play Sule—were portrayed by Chaya Singh.
She has also acted in two V. K. Prakash-directed Malayalam movies, Mullavalliyum Thenmavum and Police. She acted in two Bhojpuri movies in 2008. Mahamaayi was her debut Bhojpuri release. In addition, she has directed a Bengali movie.
She has performed in supporting parts in Kannada television series, including Prema Kathegalu and Sarojini on E-TV. She performed in the Sun TV series Nagamma in Tamil. She served as a judge in the Kannada television program Kuniyonu Bara. She has been an actor in the Maa TV Telugu series “Kanchna Ganga” since 2012. In the past several years, she has been involved in a number of Tamil films.
