American screenwriter and television producer Charles Randolph was born on February 28, 1963. Together with Adam McKay, he co-wrote The Big Short, which earned him the 2015 Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. He created and produced the 2019 movie Bombshell, which stars Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, and Charlize Theron and was directed by Jay Roach.
Randolph lectured at the University of Southern California for a weekend in 1997. Randolph was motivated to try screenwriting after he happened to meet someone who worked for the Farrelly brothers.
Randolph has written screenplays for a number of motion pictures and television shows, including as The Big Short (2015), Love & Other Drugs (2010), The Interpreter (2005), and The Life of David Gale (2003).
