American singer-songwriter Brian Wright hails from Waco, Texas. Dog Ears, his debut album, came out in 2006, and Bluebird, his sophomore album, came out shortly after in 2007. Wright recorded two more albums, House on Fire (2011) and Rattle Their Chains (2013), after joining Sugar Hill Records.
Brian Wright, who was born in Mclennan County, Texas, discovered music when he was thirteen years old. Although he can play nearly any instrument with keys or strings, he began as a drummer but eventually discovered that the guitar was more to his taste. Before relocating to Los Angeles in 2002 with his drummer, Wright played at clubs in Austin and Dallas for a number of years. It was there that they founded “Brian Wright and the Waco Tragedies.” After experimenting with a variety of musical genres, Wright ultimately decided to combine rock, country, and folk music while rejecting all three. His debut release was the album Dog Ears in 2006, which was quickly followed by Bluebird in 2007. The band started to gain a sizable fan base.
Many critics took notice of his third album, House on Fire, which he made after signing with Sugar Hill Records. Wright’s third album realised a lifetime ambition of his: playing every instrument on the record, although his first two were recorded in a studio with a live band. His 2013 move to Nashville, marriage, and parenthood all had a significant impact on the release of Rattle Their Chains. The album was recorded, then scrapped, then re-recorded in a hotel in Oregon. The reviews have been positive.
