Mumbai-based Indian author and screenwriter Bhavani Iyer. Bhavani Iyer began working as a trainee copywriter in advertising. After that, she pursued a career in journalism, serving as the editor of the cinema magazine Stardust. Black, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was her first screenplay. She has worked on the screenplays for the Indian adaptation of Fox’s popular series 24, Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera, and Bhansali’s Guzaarish. She is also the author of the highly regarded spy drama Raazi, which is set during the 1971 India-Pakistan conflict and has received praise for its delicate portrayal of cross-border espionage.
