Bhagwanti Navani, known as the “Sindhi Koel” for her beautiful voice, was a famous singer and actress born on February 1, 1940, in Karachi, Sindh, India (now Pakistan). When she was seven, her family moved to Mumbai due to the partition. She went to school there and discovered her love for music. Bhagwanti learned music formally and excelled under great teachers.

She became famous for singing Sindhi folk music and acted in Sindhi movies like “Jhulelal” and “Pardesi Preetam.” Her sweet voice earned her the nickname “Sindhi Koel” and she sang with well-known singers.

Bhagwanti was not just a singer; she also acted in plays and gave over 3,000 performances in India and other countries. She became well-known for her roles in popular plays like “Mehman” and “Gustakhi Maaf.” Her talent and voice made her a beloved figure in Sindhi music and theater, leaving a lasting impact
