Ben Hardy is an English actor who was born Ben Jones on January 2, 1991. His role as Peter Beale in the BBC serial series EastEnders (2013–2015) is what made him famous. Hardy played Roger Taylor in the biographical picture Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) and made his cinematic debut as Archangel in the superhero movie X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
Hardy played Arthur Wellesley in David Hare’s 2012 play The Judas Kiss, which also starred Rupert Everett. After receiving great reviews, the show moved to the Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End in January 2013 after a brief run at the Hampstead Theatre from September to October 2012, followed by a brief tour to Bath, Richmond, Brighton, and Cambridge. He later called the full frontal nudity required by his job “incredibly nerve-racking.”
The long-running BBC soap opera EastEnders announced on April 19, 2013, that Hardy would play Peter Beale, replacing Thomas Law, who played the role from 2006 to 2010. Hardy stated: “My family has been watching EastEnders for years, and I’m thrilled to be joining the amazing cast. I’m eager to immerse myself in a character with a rich past and can’t wait to put myself in their shoes.” On June 7, 2013, he made his first appearance. Hardy’s departure from the series was revealed on November 19, 2014. He appeared for the last time on February 24, 2015.
