Indian film director B. Jeevan Reddy primarily directs Telugu-language movies. His work in George Reddy (2019) is well-known.
Before making his directing debut with Dalam (2013), B. Jeevan Reddy served as an assistant director for the films Raksha (2008) and Ram Gopal Varma’s Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju (2011). Concurrently shot in Tamil as Koottam, the movie was released in 2014. When it was first released, the movie had mixed reviews. George Reddy (2019), his follow-up picture, was based on the real-life person of the same name. Before beginning to shoot the movie, Reddy spent a year and a half researching George Reddy. The movie opened to reviews that were better than average; one reviewer from The Times of India observed that.
Jeevan adheres faithfully to the events that shook Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape in the 1960s and 1970s. George Reddy is an engaging character to watch because he never tries to make the character look larger-than-life and instead maintains things realistic.
