Biography:

Axelle Carolyn is a Belgian filmmaker, writer, producer, author and ex-journalist working primarily within the horror genre across feature films and television. Beginning life as a film critic and journalist she graduated to writing and directing cult horror short films such as, The Last Post (2010), and Soulmate (2013), that were lauded for their unnerving atmosphere and gothic aesthetic. Her contributions to literature include It Lives Again! Horror Movies in the New Millennium; establishing her as significant figure in the discourse of modern horror movies. (imdb.com).

Carolyn branched out into episodic television and has directed episodes of popular shows such as; American Horror Story, Creepshow, The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Midnight Club, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, as well as episodes of Dead Boy Detectives (2024), the Netflix adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner’s comic series; as she has gained a reputation for writing and directing gripping supernatural mysteries that are characterized with strong psychological tension, stylish visuals, atmospheric plotting and emotional depth.
