Atluri Poornachandra Rao, born on October 29, 1925, in the quaint village of Vanapamula in Andhra Pradesh, left an indelible mark as a renowned film producer and committed communist. Seeking opportunities in the cinematic realm, he made the pivotal decision to relocate to Chennai, aiming to carve a niche in the movie industry. His professional journey spanned both regional and Hindi cinema, showcasing his versatility and passion for storytelling.

Among his notable contributions are iconic works such as “Andha Kanoon” and “Sthree,” solidifying his standing in the film fraternity. As a prolific film producer, Atluri Poornachandra Rao’s portfolio boasts an array of successful movies, including “Aadabaduchu,” “Mathrudevatha,” “Sthree,” “Aakhree Raasta,” “Andha Kanoon,” “Venky,” and “Avunanna Kadanna.” “Avunanna Kadanna” marked his final venture as a producer, gracing the screens in 2005 with Uday Kiran in the lead role.
