Asif Ali, born on February 4, 1986, is an Indian actor and producer primarily active in the Malayalam film industry. He embarked on his cinematic journey with Shyamaprasad’s “Ritu” in 2009, marking the inception of his career. Over the years, he has gained recognition for his roles in both critically acclaimed and commercially successful films.
Notable among these are the romantic thriller “Apoorvaragam,” the gripping road thriller “Traffic,” the charming romantic comedy “Salt N’ Pepper,” and the period drama “Ozhimuri,” which earned an official selection in the Indian Panorama section of the 43rd International Film Festival of India.
In 2013, his film “Honey Bee” emerged as a major hit, followed by “Nirnayakam” in 2015, which won the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues. Asif’s success continued with roles in the 2016 romantic drama “Anuraga Karikkin Vellam,” the 2017 film “Sunday Holiday,” the campus thriller “Btech” in 2018, and “Vijay Superum Pournamiyum” in 2019, which marked a hat-trick of hits for him under the direction of Jis Joy.
Expanding his involvement in the industry, Asif made his debut as a producer with the 2015 film “Kohinoor,” released under his production company Adam’s World of Imagination, which garnered success. Subsequently, he produced “Kavi Uddeshichath” in 2016 and undertook distribution responsibilities for various films, including “Vimaanam” and “Iblis.”
