Ashok Selvan

Biography:

Born on November 8, 1989, Ashok Selvan is an Indian actor who primarily performs in Tamil films. Prior to receiving praise from critics for his roles in C. V. Kumar’s productions of Pizza II: Villa (2013) and Thegidi (2014), he made his breakthrough in one of the lead roles in Soodhu Kavvum (2013).

On November 8, 1989, in Chennimalai, Erode, Tamil Nadu, India, Ashok Selvan was born into the family of Panneerselvam and Malar. After moving to Chennai when he was three years old, he finished his education at Santhome Higher Secondary School in Chennai and then went on to Loyola College to earn his degree in visual communication. During his time at college, Ashok Selvan took part in and completed twelve short films in which he acted and directed, among them being Green.

which took home the Best Film award at the Singapore-based 2012 International Tamil Thoth Conference.

Following his graduation from college, Ashok Selvan auditioned for roles in Bharat Bala’s 19th Step and Prakash Raj’s Inidhu Inidhu, among other films, but was turned down for the roles. He applied to work for S. J. Surya as an assistant director during that time, and though his sequences did not make the final cut, he was granted the chance to appear in a few scenes as Suriya’s friend in the director’s endeavor 7aam Arivu. He was also depicted in the Billa 2 title card by Chakri Toleti, where an image of Ashok Selvan as a youngster was utilized to symbolize a younger Ajith Kumar in the film’s lead role.
