Biography:

Anketa Maharana, born on January 12, 1996, is an Indian actress better known by her screen name, Apsara Rani. She primarily works in Telugu cinema.

Apsara Rani made her debut in the world of acting with the romantic drama “4 Letters,” directed by R. Raghuraj. Her next film was the romantic horror film “Oollalla Oollalla” in 2020, directed by Satya Prakash, in which she starred alongside Nataraj and Noorin Shereef. The film, released on January 1, 2020, received unfavorable reviews and performed poorly at the box office.

In the following year, she appeared in the romantic thriller “Thriller,” directed by Ram Gopal Varma, alongside newcomer Rock Kacchi. It was at Ram Gopal Varma’s suggestion that Anketa changed her name to Apsara Rani. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film was released on Shreyas ET App on August 14, 2020, and received negative feedback from both audiences and critics.

In 2021, Apsara Rani returned to Telugu cinema with a special appearance in Gopichand Malineni’s thriller “Krack,” starring Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan. She featured as an item girl in the song “Bhoom Bhaddhal.” Apsara also made an appearance as an item girl in the song “Pepsi Aunty” from the film “Seetimaarr.”

Her upcoming projects include starring in Ram Gopal Varma’s “Dangerous,” India’s first lesbian crime action film, alongside Naina Ganguly. She is also set to play the female lead in the bilingual film “Patnagarh,” which will be made in both Odia and Telugu languages and is based on the Patnagarh bombing incident. Additionally, Apsara Rani is reuniting with Ram Gopal Varma in his film “D Company,” where she will appear as an item girl.
