Biography:
Anthony Quinn is the name of a Mexican American artist who acted in different films, movies and also worked in theatre. Anthony Quinn was born under the name of Antonio Rodolfo Quinn Oaxaca on the 21st of April 1915 in the town of Chihuahua, which is located in Mexico. From childhood, Anthony Quinn started his work as an actor. In addition, Anthony Quinn was initially involved in supporting roles and Westerns. In the following years, he became famous due to some films such as The Black Swan (1942), Viva Zapata! (1952), Lust for Life (1956) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1956).
Among other roles that brought him fame were the roles in films such as La Strada (1954), The Guns of Navarone (1961), Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and Zorba the Greek (1964) for which Anthony Quinn was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor. Moreover, Anthony Quinn got two Academy Awards for the Best Supporting Actor due to his participation in the films Viva Zapata! (1952) and Lust for Life (1956). Besides being an actor, Anthony Quinn worked as an artist and author of some books about his life and career. He died in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2001.
