Anna Rajan was born to Sheeba and K. C. Rajan in Aluva, Kerala. Shaun is her older brother’s name. She had to work while in college to help support her family because her father’s sudden death from a heart attack when she was a college student put a lot of financial strain on them. Anna received the majority of her education in Aluva, where she attended the Nirmala Higher Secondary School before completing her eleventh and twelfth grades at St. Francis College. At Government Medical College in Ernakulam, she pursued a nursing degree.
Prior to entering the film industry, she was employed as a nurse at Rajagiri Hospital in Aluva. Producer Vijay Babu and director Lijo Jose Pellissery recognized her after spotting her face in a Kerala hoarding. She was forced to try out for the Angamaly Diaries’ Lichy role. The movie featured 86 new actors, including her. She is given credit as Reshma Rajan in the movie. She wanted to be known as Anna Rajan after that. She was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in Malayalam for her performance.
She starred opposite Mohanlal in her second movie, Velipadinte Pusthakam (2017), which was directed by Lal Jose. She starred with Mammootty in Lonappante Mamodeesa in 2019, which also starred Jayaram and Madhura Raja. She costarred with Prithviraj Sukumaran in the action drama Ayyappanum Koshiyum in 2020 as Koshy’s wife Ruby.
