Anku Pande

Biography:

Anku Pande, born on November 13, 1972, in Vishakhapatnam, is a film producer hailing from Nainital, Uttarakhand, India. Renowned for her role as the creative head of Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Pande has played a crucial role in introducing fresh talent and franchises to the industry.

Having traversed various media and entertainment platforms, she commenced her career as an editor and subsequently delved into directing and producing diverse documentaries and television commercials. An alumna of The American Film Institute in Los Angeles, she initiated her professional journey as an assistant producer and reporter under the guidance of Dileep Patgaongar and Vinod Dua. Afterward, she contributed to Fremantle India and later joined Bitv, where she honed her skills in utilizing the Grass Valley Switcher and Avid editing.

Post her stint at Bitv, she worked independently as a director and editor for corporate films, TV shows, commercials, and documentaries. Pande pursued her master’s degree in film producing at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. Her executive producing journey commenced with Ram Gopal Varma Productions, leading to roles in national and international film studios, including setting up local productions for Warner Brothers India.

Pande served as the Chief Creative Officer for Balaji Entertainment’s ‘Alt Entertainment’ before joining Viacom18 Motion Pictures as their Creative and Development Head. Additionally, she initiated ‘Tipping Point’ to focus on nurturing new talent and producing smaller budget movies for Viacom18 Movies. Notable projects she contributed to include sourcing Raagini MMS for Alt Entertainment and approving films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Shaintaan, Tanu Weds Manu, and Pyaar Ka Punchnama for Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

In collaboration with her husband Ramon Chibb, Pande has been actively involved in developing and producing films through their company, Manomay Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd.
