Andy Samberg

Biography:

American actor, comedian, rapper, writer, and producer David Andrew Jerome Samberg was born on August 18, 1978. Along with boyhood pals Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, he is a member of the comic music group Lonely Island. From 2005 until 2012, Samberg was a writer and cast member of the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. He and the other members of the ensemble are credited with popularizing the SNL Digital Shorts.

Hot Rod (2007), That’s My Boy (2012), Celeste and Jesse Forever (2012), Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016), and Palm Springs (2020) are among Samberg’s leading movie roles. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009–2013), Hotel Transylvania (2012–2022), Storks (2016), Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022), Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), and Zootopia 2 (2025) are among the films in which he has provided voice acting. He created and played Jake Peralta on the Fox/NBC police procedural sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine from 2013 to 2021. He received the 2013 Golden Globe for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy in recognition of his role on the program.
