Akshay Kapoor, born on September 18, 1980, in India, relocated to the United States at the age of 6 months. He spent his formative years in Pittsgrove, New Jersey, where he received training as a theater actor and participated in several Broadway productions. Subsequently, he ventured into the world of Bollywood.
His entry into Bollywood came with the release of the teenage romantic comedy “Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao” in 2004. Two years later, he starred in his second Bollywood film, “Alag,” which was a remake of the American movie “Powder.” In this film, he portrayed a character with extraordinary supernatural abilities and a unique physical appearance, being entirely hairless. Despite both films facing box office setbacks, Akshay received favorable reviews for his performances in both projects.
In addition to his feature films, Akshay also appeared in a short film titled “A Beautiful Mind… of a Gladiator,” a satirical take on the Oscar-winning movies “A Beautiful Mind” and “Gladiator.” In 2009, he had a minor role in “Kal Kissne Dekha” and took on leading roles in the thriller “Three” and the dance-oriented film “Fast Forward.”
