Advait Chandan is an Indian filmmaker active in the Hindi film industry. His directorial debut occurred in 2017 with the movie Secret Superstar. Beginning his career in 2007 as the third assistant director and later as the assistant production manager for Taare Zameen Par, Advait continued his collaboration with Aamir Khan. He served as the casting director and post-production supervisor for Kiran Rao’s debut project, Dhobi Ghat.
Having played various roles in the film industry, Advait eventually stepped into the role of a director in 2017 with the film Secret Superstar, which starred Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim in leading roles. He also contributed as the screenplay writer for the film. Notably, it emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2017 and the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, trailing only Dangal (2016). Additionally, it stands as the third-highest-grossing Indian film of all time, surpassing Aamir Khan’s PK (2014) and trailing only Dangal and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017).
Advait’s most recent directorial venture is Lal Singh Chaddha, featuring Aamir Khan, which was released on August 11, 2022.
