In Obra, Uttar Pradesh, where his father was employed by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, Kashyap was born.He attended The Scindia School in Gwalior before earning his degree in English with honors from Hansraj College at the University of Delhi in 1995.He is Anurag Kashyap’s younger brother as well as Anubhuti Kashyap, the filmmaker.
He contributed to drafting the Jung movie’s script in 2000. For the 2004 movie Yuva, he assisted director Mani Ratnam in his work. Additionally, he penned the dialogue for the Manorama features 13B (2009) and Six Feet Under (2007). He made his directing debut with the 2010 action movie Dabangg, which he and Dilip Shukla also co-wrote. The principal parts in the movie were portrayed by actor Salman Khan from Bollywood and newcomer Sonakshi Sinha. Dabangg was made available on September 10, 2010. Besharam, his second film, was released on October 2, 2013. Both critically and commercially, it failed. In the 2012 short film The Photograph, he further served as a boom operator.
In a statement posted on Facebook on June 15, 2020, Kashyap called on the Maharashtra government to launch a thorough probe into the suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He claimed that Salman Khan, his father Salim, brothers Arbaaz and Sohail, and other family members had bullied and sabotaged his career.Arbaaz responded by stating that Kashyap’s family had filed a lawsuit against him.
Salim responded sarcastically when asked how he felt about these allegations, adding that of course they had destroyed his career. Watch his films first, Salim advised, and then come talk to him. Salim went on to say that Abhinav most likely overlooked recording the names of his progenitors, including Rashid Khan, his father.
Abhinav can do anything he wants, according to Salim, who added that he won’t waste time responding to these claims.
From 1997 to 2017, Kashyap was wed to Chatura Rao; the couple has two daughters.Simran Suri, an actress, and Kashyap had a relationship in 2015.
