Biography:

Yash, born on January 8, 1986, is an Indian actor renowned for his work in Kannada cinema. He has been honored with three Filmfare Awards South.

Yash commenced his career with appearances in various television series during the 2000s and made his film debut in 2007 with Jambada Hudugi. Although his initial leading role in Rocky (2008) received a lukewarm response, Yash found success with a string of romantic films, earning his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor nomination for Drama in 2012.

Establishing himself as a prominent actor in Kannada cinema, Yash delivered hits like Googly (2013), Raja Huli (2013), Gajakesari (2014), Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari (2014), Masterpiece (2015), and Santhu Straight Forward (2016). Mr. and Mrs. Ramachari emerged as one of the highest-grossing Kannada releases, securing Yash’s first Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

His nationwide recognition soared with the pan-Indian success of K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018), the highest-grossing Kannada film at the time. Yash received praise for his role as Rocky and continued to shine in the sequel, K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022), which ranks as the fourth highest-grossing Indian film.

Beyond acting, Yash actively supports social and philanthropic causes through the Yasho Marga Foundation. His personal life includes marriage to actress Radhika Pandit. Born in Boovanahalli, Hassan, Karnataka, Yash initially bore the names Naveen and Yashwanth, the latter bestowed based on astrological beliefs. Before adopting the name Yash, he experimented with the stage name to stand out in the industry.
