Indian screenwriter and director Vikram K. Kumar is active in the Telugu and Tamil film industries.
Kumar received his degree from Chennai’s Madras Christian College. He began assisting director Priyadarshan on the Malayalam film Chandralekha in April 1997.
Additionally, he was employed by Priyadarshan in Hera Pheri and Doli Saja Ke Rakhna. Silent Scream, his breakthrough non-feature film, won the National Film Award for Best Instructional Film in 1998.
In 2001, he made his Telugu film directing debut with Ishtam. He later directed Yavarum Nalam (13B in Hindi), a Tamil film.
He wrote the screenplay and directed Manam in 2014, which debuted on November 29, 2014, at the 45th International Film Festival of India in the Homage to Akkineni Nageswara Rao section.
The movie won the Telugu Best Film Filmfare Award. The science fiction film 24 (2016), which took home two awards at the 64th National Film Awards, and the comedy-thriller Gang Leader (2019) were among the commercial hits he went on to direct.
