Biography:

Shweta Tripathi Sharma, born on July 6, 1985, is an Indian actress renowned for her portrayal of the character Golu Gupta in the popular series Mirzapur. Her journey in the entertainment industry began as a production assistant and associate director before she gained widespread recognition and commendation for her performances in Hindi films and web series. Notable movies she’s been a part of include Masaan (2015) and Haraamkhor.

Born in New Delhi, Shweta’s father served in the Indian Administrative Service, while her mother was a retired teacher. The family’s constant relocations due to her father’s profession led her to spend her childhood in both the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her fondest memories are from her time in Andaman, where she discovered her love for travel and the outdoors.

Following her schooling at Delhi Public School, RK Puram, Shweta pursued higher education at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, graduating with a degree in Fashion Communication.

Shweta Tripathi is prominently known for her role as Actor Vicky Kaushal’s girlfriend in Masaan. She also portrayed Zenia Khan, a tomboyish character, in the Disney India sitcom Kya Mast Hai Life. Her appearances in advertisements for brands like Tata Sky, McDonald’s, and Vodafone further contributed to her recognition. She served as a photo editor for Femina, a women’s magazine, and managed her own theater company, All My Tea Productions.

She was part of the web series The Trip on Bindass and made her Tamil debut with the film Mehandi Circus directed by Saravana Rajendran. Shweta was also involved in the movie Zoo, India’s first feature-length film shot entirely on an iPhone. In the web series Mirzapur, her portrayal of Golu Gupta received acclaim, especially for a scene that candidly depicted women’s sexuality.

Shweta’s most recent film, Gone Kesh, showcases her in her most ambitious role to date. She plays an adolescent dancer who grapples with alopecia, losing both her hair and self-esteem.

In her personal life, Shweta married actor and rapper Chaitanya Sharma on June 29, 2018, in Goa.
