Shiva Reddy

Biography:

Siva Reddy or Shiva Reddy is a Telugu actor, comedian, and mimicry artist, who has worked in over a hundred Telugu films. He was born in the year 1972 in Ramagundam, Karimnagar in Telangana State, India. He was the 5th son in the family; his mother was a housewife, while his father works as a farmer. During school days, Siva used to perform and imitate his teachers and the school principal. He loved it when the audience appreciated his performance, which brings him closer to his passion. After his 10th class, he shifted to Chennai to perform in movies. However, everyone advised him to wait till he reaches the right age. Later on, he went to Warangal and bagged an opportunity to work in Doordarshan.

The late fork artist, Sri Sarangapani Garu, used to encourage Siva by bringing him in all his shows. This led him to perform extensively in Garu’s programs and eventually earned the respect of the people from Warangal District. When he met director Sana Yadi Reddy, Siva was asked to narrate some comedy anecdotes in front of him. He was impressed and gave Siva the opportunity to act in all his film ventures including the film Bachelors in 1999.

In the year 2001, Siva also acted in Ammayi Kosam, helmed by Muppalaneni Siva. Later, he acted in films like Anandam (2001), Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu (2003), Vasantham (2003), Athade Oka Sainyam (2004), Donga Dongadi (2004), Chekram (2005), Stalin (2006), Namo Venkatesa (2010), Jai BoloTelangana (2011), Vastadu Naa Raju (2011), Dookudu (2011), and many more.

Besides acting on the silver screen, Siva also got the chance to work on many television shows such as Jalsa, Chittam Chittam Praya Chittam, Koteswara Rao, Gharshana Dance Show, and Comedy Gang. Siva already earned several awards including the Vamsi-Berkely award for his performance in Athade Oka Sainyam; Bharathamuni Award for Ammayi Kosam; and many more.

Although Siva was not very popular as a film actor, he is striving to make a mark in the industry. He grew up mimicking people and dancing has been his passion; and now, he is making it big on stage. He loves to watch the movies of Rajendra Prasad. He has been in the United States and performed in front of 8,000 people, who gave him a standing ovation. Siva also believes that his profession is helping him in making bonds with other people.
