Ramesh Aravind, born on September 10, 1964, in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, is a versatile Indian actor, director, producer, and host, primarily known for his contributions to Kannada cinema. Raised in Bangalore, he pursued Mechanical Engineering at the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering.

Aravind made his acting debut in K Balachander’s Kannada film “Sundara Swapnagalu” in 1986 and later ventured into Tamil and Telugu films. His enduring friendship with Kamal Haasan resulted in collaborations on projects like “Punnagai Mannan” and “Duet.” Aravind’s directorial debut, “Rama Shama Bhama” (2005), marked the beginning of his successful career behind the camera, including directing the Tamil film “Uttama Villain” starring Kamal Haasan.

With a career spanning over 140 films, Aravind has received prestigious awards, including Karnataka State Awards and Filmfare Awards, recognizing his outstanding performances. His association with K Balachander significantly influenced his film journey.
