Karthika Deepam, a Telugu serial that Premi Viswanath is currently filming for Star maa TV, premiered on October 16, 2017. In the Asianet serial Karuthamuthu, Premi Viswanath made her acting debut. By playing a dark-skinned girl on screen, she defied all preconceived notions about Malayalam television history and helped make Karthu a household name. The female lead in the Karuthamuthu serial (Karthika a.k.a. Karthu), which was also produced by Bros Creations, is portrayed by Malayalam television actress Viswanath on Asianet, which airs Monday through Saturday.
Viswanath won the 2014 Asianet Film Awards for her performance in the Karuthamuthu series as best female actress.
