Biography:

Early Life:
Indian actress, model, and politician Isha Koppikar has made appearances in both Hindi and Tamil movies. She has also appeared in several Marathi, Kannada, and Telugu films.
Koppikar was born into a Konkani family in Mahim, Bombay (now Mumbai). She has a younger sibling. At Ramnarain Ruia College in Mumbai, she received a degree in life sciences. She participated in a picture shoot for Indian photographer Gautam Rajadhyaksha while still in college. The photo shoot resulted in modelling work, particularly for L’Oréal, Rexona, Camay, Tips & Toes, and Coca-Cola. In 1995, Koppikar participated in the Miss India pageant and took home the Miss Talent crown. She was introduced to the film industry through her modelling job, and in 1997, she made her debut in the Telugu film W/o V. Vara Prasad.

Film Career:
In 2003, Koppikar appeared in five films. She appeared in Dil Ka Rishta alongside Arjun Rampal and Aishwarya Rai. She starred opposite Aftab Shivdasani in Prawaal Raman’s portmanteau movie Darna Mana Hai. She was a part of the critically acclaimed Pinjar, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, alongside Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Bajpai. She starred briefly in J. P. Dutta’s war film LOC Kargil alongside Sunil Shetty once more. She also portrayed one of three terrorists battling Ajay Devgan and Sunil Shetty in Harry Baweja’s film Qayamat: City Under Threat, earning a nomination for Best Villain at the Filmfare awards.

In 2004, she released six albums. She and Sunil Shetty appeared together in both Mani Shankar’s science fiction film Rudraksh and Kundan Shah’s outrageous comedy Ek Se Bhadkhar Ek. She played Sohail Khan’s opposite in Krishna Cottage, a spooky ghost story. She resurrected Sharon Stone’s part from Basic Instinct in the Pankaj Parashar-directed film Inteqam, in which Manoj Bajpai also appears. She appeared in a cameo alongside Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji in Kunal Kohli’s Hum Tum. She starred alongside Amrita Arora and Aashish Chaudhary in Karan Razdan’s film, Girlfriend. The divisive movie that portrayed a lesbian romance sparked a variety of public objections.
She had four releases in 2005. Sangeeth Sivan was nominated for best actor in a comedy role at three different award shows (IIFA, Zed Cine Award, and Star Screen Awards) for her part in the raunchy comedy Kyaa Kool Hai Hum starring Anupam Kher, Ritesh Deshmukh, and Tusshar Kapoor. She made cameo appearances in two more comedies, including 36 China Town starring Akshaye Khanna and Kareena Kapoor and David Dhawan’s Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? Alongside Randeep Hooda and Chunky Pandey, she also acted in Ram Gopal Varma’s gangster film D: Underworld Badshah.

Shahrukh Khan starred in Farhan Akhtar’s 2006 version of the popular Amitabh Bachchan film Don: The Chase Begins Again. Koppikar was chosen to play “Anita,” Khan’s girlfriend. However, Don’s enormous success did not help her rocky career. By the end of 2006, Vicky Ranawat’s Haseena Smart Sexy and Dangerous was able to be seen in theatres, while Hansal Mehta’s Raakh and Jahnu Barua’s Har Pal were shelved in favour of Jagdish A Sharma’s murder mystery Gahraee. The much-discussed Shabri film by Ram Gopal Varma had trouble finding a distributor.

In the high-profile movie Salaam-e-Ishq, directed by Nikhil Advani, Koppikar and Sohail Khan had a small amount of screen time together. Ram Gopal Varma’s Darling, a haunted love triangle starring Fardeen Khan and Esha Deol, was released later that year. Hello, directed by Atul Agnihotri and based on Chetan Bhagat’s best-selling book One Night @ the Call Centre, was Koppikar’s first movie to come out in 2008. The next film was a Rajshri production titled Ek Vivaah… Aisa Bhi, which also starred Sonu Sood and was directed by Kaushik Ghatak.
In 2009, Koppikar wed Timmy Narang. In 2010, she had two releases: Manoj Tiwari’s Hello Darling and Neeraj Pathak’s Right Ya Wrong. The box office performance of both films was low.

She portrayed a Mumbai lady gangster in the movie Shabri, which was eventually released in 2011. Although the picture only had a small distribution and received positive reviews for her performance, it did not perform well at the box office.
