Sayyed Hesham Abdul Wahab was born in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia. Coming from a family of musicians, he developed a keen interest in music at a young age and received formal training in Carnatic and Hindustani classical music. He began singing at the tender age of 8 and started playing the piano when he turned 11. Hesham tied the knot with Ayshath Safa on January 22, 2018. After completing his schooling at the International Indian School in Riyadh, he pursued a diploma in Audio Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audio Production from the prestigious SAE Institute, where he graduated with top honours.
In 2013, Hesham embarked on his first recording project by releasing his debut single, “Meri Dua,” produced by Offline Creations. His career was significantly boosted when he signed with Andante Records, a renowned record label. In 2015, he released his first album titled “Qadam Badha” (Step Forward), a fusion of Sufi music and World Music, produced by the esteemed Iran-born British singer-songwriter Sami Yusuf.
During the same year, Hesham entered the Malayalam film industry as a music director with the movie “Salt Mango Tree.” Furthermore, his debut as a music composer for the Bollywood film “Mera India” was scheduled for release in 2019. He has collaborated with several notable composers and has lent his voice to numerous Indian films. In 2018, his song “Jaana meri jane” from the film “Cappuccino” earned Vineeth Sreenivasan his second SIIMA award for Best Playback Singer in Malayalam.
In 2018, Hesham established “LIVE with MUSIC,” an independent music academy where he conducts classes on sound production. He also arranged and mixed filmmaker Alphonse Puthren’s debut composition, “Kathakal Chollidaam,” released as a music video featuring several Malayalam film actors and their children. He also composed the soundtrack for Vineeth Sreenivasan’s film “Hridayam,” comprising 15 songs.
