Dhruv Vikram

Biography:

Dhruv Vikram is an Indian actor, singer, and lyricist who works in Tamil movies. He was born on September 23, 1997. He debuted as an actor in the 2019 movie Adithya Varma and costarred with his father in the 2022 movie Mahaan. He is the son of actor Vikram. His primary concentration since 2022 has been singing, both in and out of movies.

Pandiraj had asked Dhruv to portray Anbukkarasu in Pasanga (2008), but Vikram was not interested in allowing his son to pursue acting, thus Kishore DS was cast in the part.  In 2016, Dhruv’s short film “Good Night Charlie” in English was posted on YouTube. It was about child abuse.

Bala’s Varmaa, a remake of the Telugu movie Arjun Reddy (2017), was supposed to be Dhruv’s feature film debut. However, the film’s release was postponed because the producer was unhappy with the finished product. M. Suganth of The Times of India wrote that “Dhruv Vikram comes up with a performance that captures Vijay Deverakonda’s intense and raw act from the original note for note, but there is an assuredness and honesty here that makes us appreciate it rather than dismiss it just as mimicry.” The film was relaunched as Adithya Varma, directed by Gireesaaya, with Dhruv continuing his role.

Dhruv costarred with his father in his 60th movie, Mahaan, which was made available on Amazon Prime Video on February 10, 2022.  In addition, he composed and performed the song “Missing Me” for the movie.  Dhruv wrote, sang, and directed the music video for Ujwal Gupta’s non-film song “Manase” later that year. He sang the non-movie song “Oru Kaayam” by Ujwal Gupta that same year [16], and “Poomadhiye” by Santhosh Narayanan the following year.  Dhruv has signed on to work on an untitled film that will be directed by Ganesh K. Babu after finishing the filming of Bison, which was directed by Mari Selvaraj.
