Amit Rai

Biography:

Amit Rai is a writer and director from India. For directing Road to Sangam in 2010, he received the Gollapudi Srinivas Award. He worked as an associate director on the 2009 Marathi film Tingya, which received positive reviews and won numerous national and international accolades.

When he received a VCR from a Muslim friend, Amit Rai’s career as a director officially began. The owner of the local electronics store suggested that Amit’s father get a TV in exchange for some of the money he was asking for when he went to sell the VCR there. Similar to her, he launched a video parlour as a business. Amit used to assist his father in the store, and after a while he started regularly watching TV and movies. As a result of his fixation on them, Amit was able to predict the location of the scene’s cut.

Soon after, Amit made his career decision, began acting, and was successful in getting into the National School of Drama. Amit saw several rocks on his travels, yet he never faltered. After that, Amit collaborated with Mangesh Hadawale, who helped him with the 2009 Oscar-nominated film Tingya.

Amit Rai directed the movie Road to Sangam, which brought him the respect and acclaim he deserved after a great deal of struggle to get acceptance in the profession. OMG 2, one of Amit Rai’s forthcoming movies, will include some of Bollywood’s most well-known and adored actors.
